Death’s Antidote

There’s only one destination, that sin always has in mind.
Regardless of the medium, a single goal it has designed.
This the last and final enemy, who soon will be no more;
Has created an impurity, the living God cannot ignore!
At times, hard for us to see, but most hateful in His eyes;
Nothing more abominable, or greater does He despise.
Now men are reserved to physically die; then judgement come.
So in this light, it’s spiritual night we avoid and separate from.
While all have turned aside; all have sinned and fallen short;
Sin entered through one man, bringing death as it’s escort.

Now while all sin leads to death; which Adam did confirm.
Today it’s on rebellion we need to levy our concern.
Firstly, you might argue, saying all sins bear equal weight;
But fornication visibly validates a variation in that rate.
So also, to with rebellion, we find that filthiness scales.
No other situation allows death’s spread to widely prevail!
Second, you say so rightly, that without blood being shed;
There’s no forgiveness of sin, yet miss what’s previously said.
You don’t have to go out searching, it’s in the exact same verse.
It’s only “almost all things” that blood removes the curse!

See rebellion conveys contamination, as an administrative sin.
Insulting God’s authority, a defilement needing to be cleansed.
But our merciful High Priest, time prior to setting things right;
Gave not only sacrificial offerings, but “gifts” for future plights.
Now then if He were on the earth, He wouldn’t be a Priest at all;
There being those who offer the gifts according to the law.
Who serve as example and shadow, of the heavenly things.
Which of those “various washings”, we now to mind can bring.
Because to know the much more, purifying blood of His side;
Look to the ashes of a heifer and how the sprinkling applied.

First take a heifer, red – in the likeness of the flesh He came.
One without defect – He who knew no sin for us became.
Never having been yoked – Satan in Him held no claim.
And kill outside the camp – in joy He despised the shame.
Then take cedar wood – His uplifted humanity and name.
Along with some hyssop – emptying Himself, was made a slave.
Lastly add scarlet strands – eternal redemption He obtained.
And each of these four items; even the blood, cast in a flame.
Outside the camp, keeping clean, the ashes always remain.
And when there’s need, with water mix, for cleanness to regain.

With the water of impurity, a puzzle piece slides into place.
The person and work of Jesus Christ so easily is retraced.
The ashes will all the elements, reduced down, yet undecayed;
Blood of the crucified Christ, through the eternal Spirit portrayed.
This living, running water, His resurrection from the dead;
Reaches man as the life-giving Spirit, exactly like He said!
We now not only forgiveness have, but fellowship with Him;
Because the blood of Jesus His Son, cleanses us from every sin.
Only the working of His redemption, to us, could cleanse and heal!
So, if you’re ever defiled by death, apply this water now revealed.
Now a last and final gift I’ll leave, make sure your vessel’s secure.
For if you leave the lid untied, words of death can still enter.
