Great Eternal Will

God is a God of purpose,
Who has a will and plan;
Containing His good pleasure,
Unknown when time began.
A council in the Godhead,
Determined what was right;
A mystery hid from ages,
Revealed now through His Christ.

This plan is full of focus,
Concerning just the Son;
The center and circumference,
The all-inclusive one.
He is the image of God,
The fullness dwells within;
He is before all things and,
All things cohere in Him.

Now through this revelation,
God opened up the way;
So that we may experience,
The extensive One today.
By it were saturated,
Our natural lives replaced;
Filling up our whole being,
To please Him in all things.

So, Father how we praise you,
Thy great, eternal will;
By it you’ve gained a people,
Your life and nature filled.
We thank you for your mercy,
You’ve qualified each one;
We bless you for your wisdom,
And all that you have done.
