As the old saying goes, “those who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it”. Yet I wonder how many times these knowers of history, intending to avoid a repeat through taking an alternative action simply progressed humanities entropy through #unintendedconsequences? Simply knowing human history doesn’t mean that every man isn’t still subject to his own fallen nature.
At some level, some altitude, everyone is doomed to “repeat history” without the salvation and person of Christ transforming their heart; and even then it’s only in the repetitious failures of a Christian believer combined with a turned heart that allows one to escape this cycle.
