So frightful of a virus,
So down about a stock.
So anxious about the president,
You’re in a state of shock.
Depressed about your dollars?
The level of your debt?
Or maybe its war with Russia,
That is the biggest threat?
Uneasy about a lack of equality?
Or maybe it’s a radical ideology?
A required usage of terminology?
An apprehensive rise in technology?
So many possible motives,
To be fearful and take note of.
But where is the awe and trepidation,
For the Creator, not just His creation?
It truly is a fearful thing,
To fall into the hands of the living God.
For He is a consuming fire,
And is not mocked in His desire.
Yes, He offers the gift of grace;
He freely gives salvation.
But He also has a government,
His very throne’s righteous foundation.
So humble yourself under His mighty hand,
For He’s severe towards all rebellion.
And His discipline starts within His own house,
Before the judgement of hellions.
